There's been a bit of confusion about when the voters in St Vital could hear more from the candidates vying for the position of Councillor for St Vital. It turns out that that opportunity was last evening (Sunday) but we've managed to track down the audio from the CJOB Audio Vault.
https://globalnews.ca/pages/audio-vault-cjob/
Set the Audio Date to October 18
Set the Audio Time to 8:00 pm
Then use the Grey bar to Fast Forward to 16:50
The first part are comments from candidates across Winnipeg...most of which are the same concerns of St Vital residents.
The section featuring St Vital candidates Doug Reimer, Chris Sigurdson & Season Kirkwood begins at 33:30 & ends at 41:20.
There isn't a link to zip you directly to the spot but it's very easy to get there if you follow the above map.xt goes here -
This is not sitting right and i need to clarify an error I noticed upon reviewing some of the recent media coverage regarding my professional background.
Some stories have described me as Vice President, General Manager with an industrial gas company; these were separate roles with different companies.
I have held Vice President positions with companies in Manitoba and Alberta, primarily in the Oli and Gas, Industrail, manufacturing sectors. During my time in the industrial gases sector, my highest position was GSM—General Manager, Midwest Region. I did not hold the title of Vice President in that sector.
I recognize the importance of ensuring that my professional history is represented accurately. I have taken steps to address the error and to ensure that my previous roles and employment history are clearly understood.
I am proud of my professional experience, and I remain committed to communicating openly, accurately, and responsibly throughout my campaign. The people of St. Vital deserve honesty, transparency, and reliable information, and I will continue to uphold those standards.
Moving forward, I will ensure my position and/or past positions are clear in any interviews, and apologize for any confusion. If you have any questions please reach out. -
An absolute pleasure to talk with the good people at CBC.

Responsible Infill: Building for the Future Without Losing What Makes St. Vital Home
Infill is a question that has come up repeatedly during my campaign. After speaking with residents across St. Vital and hearing a wide range of perspectives, I felt it was important to clearly explain where I stand.
I support additional affordable housing and responsible infill. I do not support the way infill and the current regulation are being handled. St. Vital needs to grow, and I believe we can welcome new families and new housing while protecting the quality of life of the people who already call our neighbourhood home.
But responsible growth means recognizing that not every lot, street or neighbourhood is the same.
Recent concerns raised by St. Vital residents about infill — including ( in no particular order) keeping the charm of existing neighborhoods, construction practices, drainage, parking, trees, property impacts, infrastructure and enforcement — deserve to be taken seriously. These aren't simply abstract planning issues. They affect people's homes and their everyday lives.
A recent article by Marty Gold highlights some of these concerns, particularly in the Glenwood area of St. Vital. I encourage residents to read it and consider the experiences being described.
Read Marty Gold's article: “Before voting for ‘more housing’ candidates, read what infills did to St. Vital homeowners”
My position is straightforward: we can build more housing without ignoring the people who already live here.
As your City Councillor, I would support:
• Housing growth that fits the lot, street and surrounding neighbourhood.
• Development decisions that consider existing roads, drainage, transit, parking and other infrastructure.
• Clear and predictable rules for both homeowners and builders.
• Stronger enforcement when approved plans, construction standards or City requirements aren't followed.
• Protecting trees, drainage and the character of established neighbourhoods wherever reasonably possible.
• A practical approach that recognizes that responsible density can look different in different parts of St. Vital.
I don't believe the choice is between building nothing and building anything anywhere.
There is a better approach: build thoughtfully, enforce the rules and make sure growth works for the entire neighbourhood.
That's the kind of balanced, responsible growth I would work for as your City Councillor.

BIG thank you to CTV Winnipeg for having me on today, along with the other candidates, to talk about the upcoming municipal election and the future of Winnipeg.
It was a great opportunity to speak about what matters to me most — St. Vital and the people who call it home.
I’ve been out talking with residents, knocking on doors and listening to what people want to see for our community. This election is about listening, being accessible and making sure St. Vital has a strong voice at City Hall.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts with the people of Winnipeg — and I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation right up to Election Day on October 28.
Thank you again, CTV!

Every Child Matters.
I’m proud to call St. Vital home. We are a diverse community, and being strong neighbours means taking the time to listen, learn and respect the histories, cultures and experiences that have shaped our community.
Today, we remember the children who never returned home, honour residential school Survivors and their families, and recognize the lasting impact on Indigenous communities.
For me, reconciliation starts with listening, learning and treating one another with respect.
That’s something I believe we can all carry forward..

Yard signs are in!
If you’re in St. Vital and would like to support the campaign, great news, you can host a yard sign. We’re also looking for volunteers to help knock on doors, deliver flyers, and connect with people throughout St. Vital.
Every sign helps spread the word. Every volunteer helps move us forward. I can’t do this alone, but together we can build St. Vital into a place that future generations would be proud to call home, well keeping the original charm of St. Vital.
Please reach out on the “get involved” page for a sign or to volunteer
